CKNJ reports: Heartland work starting; lodge off awhile

Two stories important to the Adair County economy--one good news, the other tinged with a little disappointment--were posted Sunday, August 5, 2007 in the CKNJ Online.

The first is word that the $15 million Campbellsville Bypass work, which is part the Heartland Parkway, is underway. That story, Bypass work set to start this week is by James Roberts.

The other story says that a proposed Lodge will have to wait for a new administration. It, too, is by James Roberts, and is in the CKNJ Online, posted Sunday, August 5, 2007. See "Lodge, golf no longer on course"

The lodge would have been located between Columbia and Adair County, and would have stimulated local tourism.

The Heartland Parkway would eventually connect the Bluegrass Parkway near Springfield and the Louie B. Nunn Parkway at Columbia, KY. For a list of the very prominent people involved in the promotion of the idea is at the Heartland Parkway Association's Click here.
