Cyclist dies following single-vehicle Bottoms Road accident


This sad news was received at 10:07pm, Thursday, August 2, 2007, from KSP Dispatcher Della F. Shaw: "Dannie L. Daniel expired at U.K. Medical Center at 8:45pm" The earlier story which was posted on Thursday, August 2, 2007 at 21:01:41 (9pm CT) follows:

A 54-year old motorcyclist was flown to UK Medical Center in Lexington following a an accident 1. 5 miles north of Russell Springs on Bottoms Road at 5:49pm, Thursday, August 2, 2007.

Dannie L. Daniel, London, was operating a 2003 Yamaha Motorcycle northbound on Bottoms Road and passed another vehicle at a high rate of speed, almost hit an oncoming vehicle, swerved sharply to the right, ran off the roadway, and was ejected.



Daniel was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.

Trooper Bryan Shepard of Kentucky State Police Post 15, Columbia, KY, investigated the accident.
