Devin Feese concurs now, spider a fishing one He concurs now that Shamarie's spider a fishing one; had not looked closely at the spider's eyes Spider People, CM: Oh. I failed to see the spiders fishing pole just out of focus in the background! I'm glad an expert was consulted as I learned something from it. Apparently with these spiders it's all in the eyes. Both wolf and fishing spiders look a lot alike, but can be distinguished by the layout of the eyes. This fishing spider has his top row of eyes in a fairly straight line. Had it been a wolf spider the outside eyes on the top row would have been higher and farther back on the "head." Click here for more information on the detailes used to identify spiders. 12a and 12b are wolf and fishing spider families respectively. Devin Feese PHOTO This story was posted on 2007-08-02 15:06:59
