Four wheeler accident results in injuries to two minor riders

Adair County Deputy Sheriff Michael Burton is continuing an investigation into an collision involving a 4-wheeler and a 2000 Dodge truck on Clear Springs Road, which resulted in riders on the 4-wheeler, both minors, being taken to Westlake Regional Hospital for treatment.

The 4-wheeler passenger, a 10-year-old minor girl, was flown from WRH to Children's Hospital in Louisville, where she was in critical condition on Sunday, Deputy Burton said.


br> The driver of the 4-wheeler, a 14-year old boy, was treated at WRH for shoulder and ankle injuries.

The incident occured on Friday, July 13, 2007, on Clear Springs Road. Deputy Burton said that the 4-wheeler was coming out of a driveway. The operator of the four wheeler attempted to stop, but slid onto Clear Springs Road and was struck in the side by the pickup, driven by Ellen Miller of Clear Springs Road in Columbia, KY, he said.
