Vigil seeks Truth, Justice, and Healing for the Billy Phillips family

On Friday July 20th, 2007 Trinity United Methodist Church will host a "Candlelight Prayer Vigil for Truth, Justice and Healing:In Memory of Billy Phillips." The service will be held in front of the Family Life Center and will begin at 7:45pm CT.

In the event of rain, please check ColumbiaMagazine.com and listen to the local radio stations for information and instructions.

All family, friends and members of the community are encouraged to come out and join with church members in support of the Phillips family. For more information, please contact the church at 384-3259 between 8:00am to 2:00pm weekdays.

Billy Phillips: with wife Jelaine, in happier times

This is the most recent photograph we have of Billy Phillips, above with his wife, Jelaine Phillips, a health education instructor at the Adair County Health Department. The photo was taken at the Phillps' church home, Trinity United Methodist, at a fund raiser in November, 2006, for the late Tyler Jessee. Mr. Phillips died June 4, 2007, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington. Mr. Phillips died following an altercation with a KSP Police Trooper at the Adair County Regional Jail. On Friday July 20th, 2007 Trinity United Methodist Church will host a "Candlelight Prayer Vigil for Truth, Justice and Healing: In Memory of Billy Phillips," in the same Family Life Center. It will begin at 7:4pm. CT.

Vigil will bring friends of Billy Phillips back to his church home

A candlelight vigil will be held at 7:45pm CT, Friday, July 20, in front of Trinity United Methodist Church will host a "Candlelight Prayer Vigil for Truth, Justice and Healing: In Memory of Billy Phillips." On June 8, 2007, above, the hearse carrying the body of Billy Phillips leads the long procession past the south entrance to his beloved Trinity United Church home on the long journey to his final resting place at Haven Hill Cemetery.
