Obituary: Christine Bardin, 82, member Trinity UMC

Mrs. Bardin was a resident of the Bliss Community for most of her life. She was the head of large, prominent Adair County family and was retired after a career as a cook with the Adair County Board of Education

Christine Bardin, 82, a resident of Summit Manor Health & Rehab, passed away Friday, June 29, 2007, at 12:45pm at Summit Manor Health & Rehab in Columbia, KY.

The funeral service will be Monday, July 2, 2007, at 1:00pm CT, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, with Bro. Jim Goff and Bro. Jamie Bryant the officiating clergy.



She was born June 25, 1925, the daughter of the late Bill and Florence Franklin Montgomery. She was the widow of G.B. Bardin, who preceded her in death on December 17, 2005.She is survived by the following:
  • One daughter and son-in-law: Janice Downey, and her husband, Arlin, Greensburg, KY

  • Three sons and two daughters-in-law: Jackie Bardin and his wife, Brenda; Phillip Bardin and his wife, Colleen; and Steve Bardin, all of Columbia, KY

  • Ten grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends

  • And one son-in-law: Lewis Bryant of Columbia, KY
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Judy Bryant, on October 16, 2002.

Mrs. Bardin was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and a retired school cook who had worked for the Adair County Board of Education.

Interment will be in Columbia Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 1:30pm CT, Sunday, July 1, 2007, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg ST, Columbia, KY.
