Sandy Tucker, co-founder of Galilean Children's home, dies

Sandy Tucker, of the Galilean Children's Home in Liberty, died Monday, June 18, 2007, in Lexington, KY, after losing a battle with cancer.

McKinney-Brown Funeral Home of Liberty is in charge of funeral arrangements, and a spokesperson reached today said that the complete obituary would be available tomorrow.



Brief details are that visitation will be at the gymnasium of the Galilean Home on Saturday, June 23, 2007, and the funeral will be held there on Monday, June 25, at 10am ET at the gymnasium.

Governor Ernie Fletcher issued a statement on learning of the death of the woman who helped so many children. Throughout her life, Sandy Tucker touched the lives of hundreds of children, giving them hope for a better life and a brighter future, said Governor Fletcher. We have lost a true angel on earth with her passing. Glenna and I join those who knew her in mourning her loss.
