An essay, a poem: We're a community when we all pull together

Writer sees community strengths here which are energizing

By Billy Joe Fudge

The day of prayer on the square, the outpouring of love from the community for the Relay For Life, and the Crusade are indeed energizing hope in me.

Our community is "a community" when we all pull together in spite of our individual weaknesses or strengths.
God loves us and will receive us into His Family just as we are. #We in the our Community should emulate this behavior.

Just as lines in a poem, weaknesses are lessened and strengths are accentuated through the majesty of the whole.

I AM

My bed is softened by tender
Grasses as I lay back in
Meadows green with life.
I am enveloped in ecstasy and comfort.

Warm breezes undulate over me,
Swinging my earthen hammock
Which spans horizon to horizon.
I am overflowing with pleasure and calm.

Spared the toil of exertion
My soul soars to great heights
Carried on the winds of joy.
I am invigorated by eternity and the moment.

Hope lifts me higher and higher
Into glories I have not known.
Into places I have not been.
I am assured by faith and love.

Then even as the reality of the
World around me begins to erode
The beaches of this splendor,
I am convinced that He is and cares.
