Mary Keltner House was morgue after Gradyville Flood

2007-06-07 - Gradyville, KY - Photo By Ed Waggener.
Mary Keltner has offered to allow a roadside marker, which will commemorate the Gradyville Flood on her property on the Old Gradyville Road. The house has a special significance in the story of the flood, which happened 100 years ago on June 7, 1907. It served as a morgue. And, even today, some people say they can see images from the flood in an upstairs window. The sign is real. Gradyville still has a post office, one of only four in Adair County today, with the others at Breeding, Cane Valley, and Columbia.
