By Kelli Bonifer, Adair Co. Home Extension Agent

The Adair County Farmer's Market is opening for the season on Friday, June 8, 2007.

The Farmer#s Market is held in the Adair County Cooperative Extension Service parking lot located at 409 Fairground Street in Columbia. The market will open every Tuesday and Friday, from 6:00am to 10:00am.

At this time of the year vegetables that could be available are broccoli, cabbage, peas, lettuce, squash and various plants and flowers.

As the growing season continues, there will be more produce such as sweet corn, tomatoes, peppers, melons and pumpkins.

Any vegetable producer can participate as a vendor, and there is no setup fee.

The main guideline for vendors is that the produce must be grown in Adair County.
