Krista 3rd after round one in NAIA National Tournament

LWC Team in 10th place after yesterday's play at Lake San Marcos County Club, San Marcos, CA

SAN MARCOS, CA -- The Lindsey Wilson College women's golf team is tied for 10th after the first round of the NAIA National Tournament being played at Lake San Marcos Country Club.

The Blue Raiders' team-total of 325 is 11 strokes behind two-time defending national champion Oklahoma City University and University of British Columbia who is tied atop the tournament with a 314.

Lindsey Wilson freshman Krista Burton is third after the first round with a two-over par 74 over the 6,073-yard, par 72, Lake San Marcos course.




Freshman Cheslee Elkins is tied for 47th with a 10-over par 82 and junior Beth Cooper is tied for 55th with an 83.

Junior Jessica Robertson is tied for 81st following her 86 and sophomore Aline Decker is tied for 86th with an 87.

Bethel (IN) College's Shanna Page and University of Victoria's (B.C.) Anne Balser is tied for first after an even round 72.

Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 10 a.m. CDT on Wednesday for its second round. The championship concludes on Friday.
