Feedback: Memories of the blackouts in WWII

To the editor, CM:

I am old enough to remember the blackouts which Gordon Crump referred to when he wrote about the lights from Lindsey Hill.

That part of life on Jamestown Hill during World War II was scary, but also a little bit exciting. It probably seemed like a game to me, then.

I think Daddy wore some kind of armband and was outside the house maybe to watch for enemy or to to see if all the houses were dark.
