8:00am CT. Last day to register to vote in 2007 primary election: Voters have from 8am-4:30pm to register to vote in the primary election, Tuesday, May 22, 2007. Register in the office of Adair County Court Clerk Sheila Blair in the Adair Annex on the Square in Columbia, KY.

6:00pm Dodgeball tournament The Adair County Junior Miss Scholarship Program will host a co-ed Dodgeball (Double Elimination) Tournament on Monday, April 23, 2007 at 6:00pm CT at the ACHS Gym. What you need: At least 6 players, of which at least 2 must be female. All players must be 16 or older. A completed tournament application, with the $30 entry fee. Creative name & dress. Energy! We ask participants to be at the ACHS Gymnasium on Monday, April 23rd by 5:30pm (if possible). Prizes will be awarded for 1st place and to the "most creative attire."   • DEATHS: In 1985, Sam Ervin, U.S. Senator from North Carolina, who ranked low on civil rights, low on real protection of religious freedoms, but high on civil liberties. Traffic and Roads

Driving, catching turns, and safety got a huge boost with Saturday work striping lanes, marking turns, and unveiling new signage on Saturday, April 21, 2007 on the new section of the new section of KY 61 South, the junction with KY 80 and the interchange with the LBN. As time, weather, and traffic lighten the black top, driving at night is easier, and a flashing beacon being re-installed will make the junction of KY 61 and 80 East safer still.

The contract for the Western Bypass will go to Gaddie-Shamrock. State Highway Commissioner Marc Williams, in a telephone call with Judge Ann Melton, that he will officially award the contract next week. Local leaders have worked to get a bypass for over 60 years.
