Traffic and Roads

Striping was completed yesterday on the new section of the four lane KY 61 from Westwood to the Louie B. Nunn Interchange. Columbia Councillor Edwin Taylor recommends everyone take a ride out soon to see Adair County's only four-lane (excluding the Parkway, but that doesn't count in this category, he said).

The contract for the Western Bypass will go to Gaddie-Shamrock. State Highway Commissioner Marc Williams, in a telephone call with Judge Ann Melton, that he will officially award the contract next week. Local leaders have worked to get a bypass for over 60 years.
