Ribbon Cutting at Hometown Building LLC The Columbia-Adair County Chamber of Commerce will have a ribbon cutting ceremony Friday, April 20, 2007, beginning at 10:00am CT at Hometown Building LLC, located on KY 55 South, the Jamestown Road, next to Janes' Appliances.The owners are Phillip and Missy Dunbar, Doug VanArsdale, and Ronnie Janes. Dumpsters out today in Adair County PRIDE Spring Clean up
Adair County PRIDE dumpsters at Knifley Fire Department, at the Old Portland Catfish Store in Portland, and at the Fire Station in Pellyton. And, now just added, Dumpster at M & C Lawn Repair on Highway East 80. Dumpsters will be open from 8:00am until 4:00pm CT. Judge Melton will be at the dumpster in Pellyton; Administrative Assistant Lisa Lee will be in Knifley; Adair County road department's Lonnie Page will be at Portland, and County Solid Waste Coordinator A.L. Sinclair will be at M&C.

CBC Relay for Life Pie Supper this eveningRelay for Life pie supper at Christian Life Center Columbia Baptist Church Relay for Life Pie Supper will be this evening, Friday, April 20, 2007, at the Christian Life Center starting at 6:00 for supper with a silent auction and a live auction to follow. Will be selling the opportunity for someone to throw a "pie in the Face" to either, Bro. Randy, Robbie Harmon, and others and to bid on the one who is to get the pie. Lots of great items to sell. Singing for a Cure at Depot Dream Depot proudly presents "Singing for a Cure," featuring Levi Scott, Andy Mann, Craig Dean, Greg Blair and special guest on Friday night, April 20, 2007, (and again on Saturday night, April 21, 2007,) at 7:00pm CT. Admission is $6 for adults and $4 for children 12 and under. Proceeds from this event go to the Relay for Life. Reservations are strongly recommended. These guys are favorites. Official word is that the Western Bypass will be let today, Friday, April 20, 2007, after 11:00am. Joe Hare, Columbia Gas Department Superintendent, says his understanding that in Frankfort, KY, Adair County's big moment is part of a meeting when a number of projects are considered by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.

Planes arriving in Louisville for Thunder Airshow

Thunder is the official kickoff of the yearly Kentucky Derby Festival, beginning two weeks of events that lead up to Kentucky's most famous sporting event. Pictured is one of six 1953 Beech A45 single engine planes that comprise The Lima Lima Flight Team. They bill themselves as "The world's original six aircraft civilian formation aerobatic team!"
