Angela Dean: 2007 Outstanding Volunteer of the Year

Angela Dean was named the Columbia-Adair County Chamber of Commerce Employee of the Year at the group's April 9, 2007 Annual Banquet at Cranmer Dining Center, Lindsey Wilson College.

In making the presentation, Dana Walker said:

"The Outstanding Volunteer of the Year is Angela Dean. She has been actively involved with various organizations throughout the years, but her passion is with the Relay for Life.

"Angela became involved with the American Cancer Society and Relay for Life because her father's death was due to cancer.

"In 2006, Angela served as Assistant Chairman of Relay for Life in preparation for becoming Chairman for the 2007 Relay. Ironically, her mother was diagnosed with cancer just after the announcement was made of her being the new Chairman.

"She already has over 25 teams registeredd for the June 2007 Relay for Life, which tells you that she works every day on this event.

"Angela is also an active member of the order of the Eastern Star, where she serves as Secretary. She and her husband Sammy and daughter Ashley attend Columbia Christian Church.

"Angela has been employoed for nine years at the Bank of Columiba and is currently a loan officer there.

"The Chamber is proud to present the Outstanding Volunteer of the Year Award to Angela Dean."
