Coach Mark Fudge: 2007 Educator of the Year Adair County High School Boys Basketball Coach Mark Fudge was named the Columbia-Adair County Chamber of Commerce Educator of the Year at the group's April 9, 2007 Annual Banquet at Cranmer Dining Center, Lindsey Wilson College. In making the presentation, Dana Walker said: "A native of the Adair County community of Sparksville, Mark Fudge has been the Adair County High School boys' coach since 2003. Most recently, Mark guided the 2006-07 Adair County team to the Kentucky Sweet Sixteen, the first time the Indians have appeared in the State basketball tournament in 12 years. "The 2006-2007 Indians made it to the tournament's Elite Eight, marking the first time in 52 years the Adair County Boys' program won a game at the State Tournament. "During his 21-year educational career in the Adair County Public School System, Mark has also been involved with the football and softball teams. "Former student Scott Beenett said this about Fudge's ability as an educator: As a former student and player under Coach Fudge, I can attest to his tireless work ethic and his abililty to relate to young people. He is a teacher in the truest sense of the word in the classroom and on the court"Mark is also Chairman of the Deacons and he is an Assistant Sunday School teacher at Columbia Baptist Church. He holds degrees from Lindsey Wilson College, Campbellsville College, and Western Kentucky University."Mark is the son of Felton and Doris Fudge, both of Sparksville.
