Deadline to register is two weeks away: Mon., April 23, 2007

The deadline for registering to vote in the upcoming May 22, 2007 primary is Monday, April 23, 2007.

The office of Adair County Court Clerk Sheila Blair, and all other county court clerks offices in Kentucky will accept registrations until the close of business on Monday, two weeks from today. Clerk Blair's office is in the Adair County Annex building on the Public Square, Columbia, KY.

Mail-in registrations are required to show a postmark of April 23, 2007, in order to qualify. Registration cards can be obtained over the internet at http://www.sos.ky.gov/register.

Persons who are 17, but who will be 18 years old on or before the general election, Tuesday, November 6, 2007, are eligible to register and thus be entitled to vote in the upcoming primary and runoff election, if any. However, they can't vote in any special elections unless they are 18 years old.
