Saturday, April 21, 2007 is special PRIDE clean-up day

Lisa Lee, Administrative Assistant to Adair County Judge Ann Melton, and coordinator of the Adair County Spring PRIDE clean-up, asks every Adair Countian to help with the effort to beautify Adair County by coming to the back parking lot at the Chamber of Commerce building on Saturday, April 21, 2007.

Groups from clubs, schools, churches, and civic-minded businesses are invited to come.

Even though the day has a serious purpose, it will be a fun event, Lee said. An agenda for the morning will start with wake-up refreshments, will end back at the Chamber Building with a lunch and prizes.

The schedule follows:

SATURDAY, APRIL 21, 2007
AGENDA 8:00 A.M. CT

8:00: doughnuts, juice, coffee
8:15: sign ins
8:30: each group will be assigned a road close to town, or you may choose your own
8:45: each group will receive vest, trash bags, gloves, and tickets for giveaways
9:00: depart from chamber for roadside cleanups
11:00: return to chamber for lunch
11:15: numerous prizes will be given.
If anyone would like to make a donation for prizes they may contact, Judge Meltons office, 384-4703.

"We invite everyone that can to come and take part in this day of clean-up," Lee said. "This helps promote a clean county, and you as a volunteer receive pride in knowing that you did your part."
