Adair County unemployment for 2006 was 5.6% Adair County's unemployment rate of 5.6% for the year of 2006 was slightly lower than the statewide average of 5.7%, well below the Lake Cumberland rate of 6.4%, but well above the national rate of 4.6%. Overall, Adair County stood 3rd in the 10-County Lake Cumberland Area Development District. Neighboring Taylor County's 4.9% rate was among the 10-best employment pictures in the state.
