Proposed City Ordinance No 540.9: New parking regulations First reading was given last night, Monday, April 2, 2007. at the regular meeting of the Columbia City Council to Mayor Pat Bell's proposed ordinance revising parking regulations in the City of Columbia. The proposed changes are printed below in their entirety, with strike-throughs for old parts of the ordinance. ORDINANCE NO. 540.9 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 540.8 ESTABLISHING REGULATIONS FOR PARKING INTHE CITY OF COLUMBIA THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBIA, KENTUCKY, DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:1. The Ordinances regulating parking and establishing penalties for the violations thereof in the City of Columbia prior to the date of this Ordinance are hereby repealed. 2. In accordance with the officials signs and markings now in existence in the City of Columbia, 3. Certain areas in the downtown area shall be designated for two (2) hour free parking between the times of 8:00 A.M. and 5:00 P.M. for all days except Sundays, public holidays or special designated days authorized by the city legislative body. Said area shall include the Public Square and one (1) block off said square as designated by public notices. 4. The following penalties for parking violations shall be in effect for the City of Columbia: 5. It if further provided that should the penalty provided herein not be paid within 6. For the violations of Section 2 of this ordinance, a person shall be fined not less than 7. This ordinance shall be and become in full force and effect immediately upon its adoption and publication as required by law, and all ordinances, resolutions and orders, or parts thereof, in conflict herewith are to the extent of said conflict hereby repealed..
