Agenda for Relay Committee meeting announced

By Angela Dean, Relay for Life 2007 Chairperson

This is a reminder out that we are having a meeting this Thursday evening March 8th in the Lower Level of the Chamber of Commerce building. The times are 5:30 6:00pm CT committee, 6:00 7:00pm CT, team captains.

This is the rescheduled meeting after canceling last week to possibly bad weather.

Below is the agenda or some of the things we need to finalize and talk about.
  1. If you are not able to attend the meeting you need to drop off your participation forms signed by your team members with t shirt sizes and signatures to me or send with someone Thursday evening.

  2. I need the list of your team members that are going to help with the demolition derby.

  3. I have a list of a few teams that are going to set up booths at the demolition derby, if your team is going to set up a booth I have to know by 4:00pm CT this Thursday if you are not going to be at the meeting. Any team that does not let me know by the Thursday meeting can not set up.

  4. We meet with some of the Jaycees last evening. We ask that no one sell the same things that the Jaycees are selling in the food area. Electricity is not going to be available for food prep or keeping things hot. Therefore you will be limited to what you can sell. I would suggest baked goods, raffle items. I know some teams wanted to do food, chili, etc however we need to remember that we have to help the Jaycees make this successful, therefore it is successful for Relay as a whole.

The Jaycee booth will have these items: Hot dogs/ chili dogs/ hamburger/cheeseburgers/chips/can drinks/candy bars/pizza/nacho cheese & chips?

I apologize if you are going to have to adjust what you were planning on selling but running electricity is just not going to be option for this event.
Community yard sale, date, and place will be discussed and date decided on, details Thursday evening.

Again, the demolition derby could possibly be a huge thing for relay and we are going to need people to volunteer to help all evening. Remember if you set up a booth you need to have a couple of people from your team to commit to helping the Jaycees.

Here is a list of the teams that have contacted me about a booth, if you are not listed make sure I know before 4:00 Thursday afternoon, you can email me:
  • Higher Praise church
  • Kids for a cure
  • Friends for a cure (Bloomington Church)
  • Class of 94 In memory of Craig Hare
  • First National Bank
