Many activities set for MS Awareness Month in Columbia

By Lynda McKinley

There are many activities scheduled in the fight against MS, Multiple Sclerosis, in Adair County. I hope you will be able to do most or all of the activities listed below.

Here's are some of the things you can do:
  • Call and register with the National MS Society, take action and join the movement against Multiple Sclerosis. The new website is www.jointhemovement.org or you can still register with www.kynmss.org

  • Contact Congress to increase federal funding for Multiple Sclerosis research this month

  • Start building teams, register for the MS Walk and start fundraising. If you need information regarding how to start, contact the National MS Society or Lynda McKinley, MS Walk Chairperson at 270-378-1399

  • Multiple Sclerosis Bracelets will be on sale starting Thursday, March 8, 2007. Contact Bonnie Rodgers at Quality Personnel, 384-2866 or any MS Dream Walker at 384-6727

  • Contribute Crock Pot recipes for this years MS cookbooks. All proceeds will go to the National MS Society for research in finding a cure

  • On Thursday, March 8, 2007 contact your legislators regarding Bill 219 & Bill 290. These bills help with health care, Medicaid, and enable people with MS to continue to work.

  • Show your support by wearing red on Friday, March 9, 2007

  • Check out the web videos on different topics through the www.kynmss.org web site.
We need your support.
