Obituary: Lawrence Brock, 81, owner, Brock Welding

Mr. Brock was the head of a large, respected Adair County family. He was attended Calvary Temple

Lawrence Brock, 81, 354 Shirley-Brock Road, Columbia, KY, died Friday, March 2, 2007, at 1:15am CT, at Westlake Regional Hospital in Columbia, KY.

The funeral service is Monday, March 5, 2007, at 3:00pm CT, at Grissom Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville ST, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Homer Stephens and Bro. Marvin Janes officiating.



He was a son of the late Elbert and Ethel Parson Brock. He was owner of Brock's welding for 31 years. Mr. Brock attended Calvary Temple.

Survivors include his wife, Beatrice Shirley Brock, Columbia, KY, and the following:
  • One son and daughter in law: Kenneth and Janet Brock, Columbia, KY

  • Three daughters and son in laws: Imia and James Earl Corbin, Debbie and Mike Smith, Geneva and Garry Sneed, all of Columbia, KY

  • Eight brothers and sisters: Clarence Brock, Milltown, KY; Maerene Shirley, Gilbert Brock, Juanita Day, Lester Brock, and Wanda Holmes, all of Columbia, KY; Arvist Brock, Mt. Washington, KY; and Eugene Paul Brock, Louisville, KY

  • Seven grandchildren: Tammy Sullivan, Dewayne Coffey, Scott Coffey, Kenny Lynn Smith, Shawn Smith, Amy Brockman, and Jordan Sneed

  • Eight great grandchildren: Candice Turner, Timmy Coffey, Nikki Coffey, Ashley Sullivan, James Smith, Jacob Smith, Leighton Brockman, and Gavin Brockman

  • And several nieces, nephews, and friends
He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters, James and Russell Brock and Annie Elmore and Hattie Moore.

Visitation will be after 4:30pm CT, Sunday, March 4, 2007, at Grissom Funeral Home.

Grissom Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
