Dodgeball tournament will aid fight against cancer Organizer lost mother to cancer; now she has a passion to fight the disease Schedule: March 5, womens tournament; March 6, mens tournament; March 20 co-ed tournament. (In CM Events Calendar) By Abigail Downs, LWC Student Reporter for The View Never will your anger have a more positive outcome than this! Rebecca Schmidt of the Computer Center and Jonathan Douglas' Campus Recreation and Sports Administration class will be hosting a dodgeball tournament at Biggers Sports Center, March 5-6 and 20th. The purpose of the event is to raise money for Schmidt's Relay for Life team. The cost will be $25 for each 6-8 member team. Anyone over 16 years of age may participate. Prizes will be awarded to the first place team, to the team with the best uniforms and to the team with the most team spirit. Schmidt has participated in numerous events to support finding a cure for cancer, including a three day, sixty mile walk for the Susan G. Komen For the Cure foundation. When Schmidt was a Junior at Lindsey Wilson her mother passed away due to cancer, which has created a passion in Schmidt to "do something to raise money for the cause." For more information about submitting a team for the event, or other inquiries, contact Rebecca by email at schmidtr@lindsey.edu or at 270.402.4068. And remember, "If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball." Schedule: March 5, womens tournament; March 6, mens tournament; March 20 co-ed tournament.
