Obituary: Jerry Ray Foster, 62, member Providence Baptist

He was a respected member of the community, who leaves a large family. He was a former employee of Kentucky Tie & Lumber Company

Jerry Ray Foster, age 62 years, of 980 Gentry Mill Road, Columbia, KY, passed away Tuesday, February 20, 2007, at 7:34am CT at Westlake Regional Hospital Emergency Room, Columbia, KY.

The funeral service will be Thursday, February 22, 2007, at 10:00am at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, with Rev. Ronnie Turner the officiating clergy.



He was born June 29, 1944, the son of the late Willie and Dorothy Mae Bryant Foster of the Sano Community.

He is survived by his wife, Martha Raye Stanton Foster, of Columbia, KY, and by the following:
  • Three daughters: Lisa Garrett and her husband Kevin of Knoxville, TN: Sherry Hancock and her husband David, Greensburg, KY; and Sandy Smith and her husband Jerry, Columbia, KY

  • One brother: Larry A. Foster and his wife Nancy, Columbia, KY

  • Two sisters: Joyce Turner, and Redith George and her husband Willie, Columbia, KY

  • Six Grandchildren: Tim Bottoms and his wife Ashley, Samantha Thomas and her husband Tim, Tiffany Foley and her husband Matt, Dariann Smith, Travis Bottoms, and Matt Hancock

  • Five Great Grandchildren: Isaiah and Jordon Foley, Emily and Jaysen Thomas, and Emma Helm

  • He is also survived by several nieces, nephews & a host of other relatives and friends
He was a longtime husband, father and friend to those who knew and loved him, a member of the Providence Baptist Church and a former employee of Kentucky Tie & Lumber Company.

Interment will be in Freedom Cemetery.

Visitation is Wednesday, February 21, 2007, after 3:30pm CT, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg ST, Columbia, KY.
