Horse Cave Book Fair is this weekend

The first book fair in Horse Cave is scheduled for this coming Friday and Saturday, February 23 and 24 in the old Dollar General Store building at 107-109 Water Street next to K & H Department Store and The Bookstore.

The fair features a number of area book dealers and authors.



Book dealers will be selling antiquarian, collectible, used, out-of-print books. Some ephemera will be offered.

One dealer will be specializing in Civil War titles.

Another will have dozens of signed first editions.

The fair will open at 10:00a, and continue to 7:00pm both days.

Friday evening Dwight A. Moody, Dean of the Chapel at Georgetown College, will read and discuss his latest book The Other Side of Oddvillea collection of essays drawn from his years as a minister. He will read at 7:00pm.

Saturday evening Hart County poets Davis McCombs and Charles D. Williams will read from their work. That reading will begin at 7:00pm.

The fair is jointly sponsored by the Horse Cave Development Corporation. HCDC is a non-profit entity which has purchased several downtown buildings and is renovating them for lease or sale.

The fair is being coordinated by Miles Books of Russellville and by The Bookstore in Horse Cave.

During the fair, the entire stock of The Bookstore will be offered for sale at discount prices.
