Obituary: Sarah Moss, 85, member Shiloh Christian Church

Mrs. Moss was the matriarch of a prominent, highly respected Adair County family

Sarah Moss, 85, formerly of Lampton Lane, Columbia, KY, passed away, Sunday, January 28, 2007, at 10:00am CT, at the Fair Oaks Nursing Home in Jamestown KY, after several months illness.

She was the daughter of the late Tim and Kit Bryant Cravens of Adair County, KY.

The funeral service will be Tuesday, January 30, 2007, at 11:00am at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Terry White the officiating clergy. Interment will be at Union Cemetery, Milltown-Church Road, near Gradyville, KY.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Moss, on January 26, 2004.

She is survived by the following:
  • One daughter, Pat Vaughan, and her husband Jerry, Columbia, KY

  • Three brothers: Charles Cravens, Shepherdsville, KY; Sam Cravens, Lebanon Junction, KY; and George Cravens, Middletown, OH

  • Two sisters: Ann Conover, Russell Springs, KY; and Eula Mae Wenke, Mays, IN

  • Two granddaughters, Melanie Cooke, Louisville, KY; and Jennifer Jenkins, China Grove, NC

  • Two great grandchildren: Isaac and Olivia Cooke
Mrs. Moss was a member of the Shiloh Christian Church and attended the Columbia Christian Church. She was a retired seamstress and homemaker.

The family requests visitation after 3:30pm CT, on Monday, January 29, 2007, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueay Funeral Home, 212 Greensburg ST, Columbia, KY 42728.
