There are now more candidates officially registered for the 2007 primary election. With the deadline for filing January 30, 2007, there are three Republicans and six Democrats in the governor's race; one from each party running for secretary of state; one Democrat and two Republicans for attorney general; six candidates, three in each party, for state treasurer; and two are running for commissioner of agriculture. Flatwoods SBC sign of times: Jesus warms from the inside out

Deacon Mike Bennett of Flatwoods Separate Baptist Church was braving the snow this morning, completing today's signboard message, "Jesus warms from the inside out." The church is located on KY 61, five miles south of Columbia, KY. The pastor is Bro. Carol G. Perkins. There is more on the church in the Directory of Churches.

Snow covered KY 768 between Sparksvlle and Chance, KY

In a vehicle made for the weather, this driver had no trouble climbing the winding hill on KY 768 between KY 61 and Chance. Roads in the highlands required extra driving skills this morning, Sunday, January 28, 2007, but the fabled 40-mile vistas from the ridge were reduced less than a mile at times, in places, this morning.
