A Ryan Alessi article in the Lexington Herald this morning, January 20, 2007, says that Adair County native (the late Demaree and Mary Richards' son; grew up in Garlin, KY on KY 206, Gateway City to Burton Ridge) and Speaker of the House of Representatives Jody Richards, will announce candidacy for Governor on Wednesday, January 24, 2007, in Bowling Green.
