Obituary: Elbert Piercy, 91, World War II veteran

Mr. Piercy was a member of Edwards Chapel UMC in Wayne County. He was a former factory worker and a retired farmer.

Elbert Piercy, 91, 987 Green Hills Roads, Columbia, KY, died Wednesday, January 10, 2007, at 1:54pm CT, at Westlake Regional Hospital in Columbia, KY.

The funeral service is Saturday, January 13, 2007, at 11:00am at Edwards Chapel United Methodist Church in Wayne County, with Bro. Clifton Bennett officiating. Burial will be in Edwards Chapel Cemetery. Visitation at Grissom Funeral Home after 4:00pm CT, Friday, January, 12, 2007, and at the church in Wayne County after 10:00am, Saturday.

A native of Wayne Co., KY, he was the son of the late Charlie and Annie Hicks Piercy.

He was a US Army Veteran of World War II, a former factory worker, and a retired farmer.

He is survived by his wife, Lois Hancock Piercy of Columbia and two nieces.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Nora Ann Piercy, and two sisters, Oma Carter and Opal Upchurch.
