Feedback: Writer says Adair needs more than potential employees

Letter is in response to letter from John Ford

ColumbiaMagazine.com

No animosity was intended or specifically directed toward Mr. Ford, but the posted response is a perfect example of the problem.

How can Adair County go all over the country, or the world for that matter, trying to recruit businesses into the area when the only thing we have to offer is a bunch of potential employees?

If the support infrastructure is not in place, or at least in the planning stages, (including the airport expansion) what is there to offer?

If these issues are not addressed, planned, funded and completed, then our county will be relegated to the position of being a bedroom community in support of Glasgow, Somerset and Campbellsville. Once again Mr. Ford, I apologize for any offense, but some day, someone has to start rolling the ball.

Charles Miller
Adair County Resident
