Mysteries: Who all will Mayor Bell appoint tonight?

Mayor says we'll like his choices, but names of appointees are still a well-kept City of Columbia Administration secret with less than two hours to go
Printable scorecard below

The agenda for tonight's City Council meeting is brief, but the meeting is providing some fine political theatre, with a whole community getting anticipatory about who will be named to the City Council Seat held for eight hours by Greg Thomas, who resigned at 8:00am New Year's Day, and who will be named to the two vacancies on the Columbia Utilities Commission?

If that weren't enough, the Mayor is squirreling the names of several other appointments to be announced at tonight's monthly meeting, 6:00pm January 3, 2006.

If anyone has finagled the information from Mayor Bell, they haven't shared it with ColumbiaMagazine.com.

All the Mayor will say is, "You're going to like them."We have learned the openings to be filled, and provide this scorecard to keep track of the new players as they are named:
  1. _________________ will fill the vacancy on the Columbia City Council left by the resignation of Councillor Greg Thomas.

  2. _________________ will fill the vacancy on the Columbia Utilities Commission left by the death of Craig Williams

  3. _________________ will fill the vacancy on the Columbia Utilities Commission left by Councillor Larry Marshall, who did not seek re-election.

  4. _________________ will be appointed or re-appointed to the Tourism Board

  5. _________________ will be appointed or re-appointed to the other seat on the Tourism Board

  6. _________________ will be appointed or re-appointed to the Columbia City Cemetery Board

  7. _________________ will be appointed or re-appointed to the Parks & Recreation Board

  8. _________________ will be appointed or re-appointed to the Planning & Zoning Commission

  9. _________________ will be appointed or re-appointed to the Board of Adjustment

  10. _________________ will be appointed or re-appointed to the Mayor Pro Tem, to replace Larry Marshall.

  11. _________________ will be appointed or re-appointed City Clerk
Major interest is around the City Council appointment and the two Columbia Utilities Commission. Almost no drama surrounds the last blank. It's a 101% sure thing that her initials are Carolyn Edwards.
