Obituary: Wallace Elza Johnson, 89, WW II veteran Mr. Johnson was the head of a large, respected Adair County family; he leaves 52 living descendants. He was former heavy equipment operator. Military honors by VFW Post 6097 Wallace Elza Johnson, 89, Blackberry Lane, Columbia, KY, died Saturday, December 30, 2005, at 7:34am, at the University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville, KY. The funeral service will be Monday, January 1, 2007, at 1:00pm CT, at Grissom Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville ST, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Calvin Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Bearwallow Cemetery with military honors by Columbia VFW Post 6097. He was a son of the late Robert and Kitty Fannnie Bailey Johnson. Mr. Johnson was a US Army Veteran of World War II, a member of VFW Post 6097, and a former heavy equipment operator. He was preceded in death by his wife, Odella Burton Johnson, in 1991; by two grandchildren and three brothers, Walker, Paul, and Lee Bolin Johnson. He is survived by the following:
