Obituary: Peggy Sue Smallwood, 63

Peggy Sue Smallwood, 63, of the Chance Community in Adair County, KY, pased away Monday, December 25, 2006, at 12:10pm, at the Norton Audubon Hospital in Louisville, KY, after an illness.

The funeral service will be Thursday, December 28, 2006, at 11:00am CT, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with James Smallwood and Bro. Glen Akin the officiating clergy.



Mrs. Smallwood was a homemaker.

She was the daughter of the late James Milton and Nola Pauline Cotham Meeks.

She is survived by her husband, James R. Smallwood, Columbia, KY, and the following:
  • Two daughters: Dana Helm and her husband, Paul, Boca Raton, FL; and Sherry Baker and her husband, Jesse, Fort Belvoir, VA

  • Her mother-in-law: Matrie Stotts Smallwood, Clinton, TN

  • Three grandsons: Mike Smallwood, Wayne Helm, and Anthony Constantino

  • Two granddaughters: Summer Helm and Chyenne Baker

  • Two great grandsons: Joshua and Jordan Smallwood

  • Four sisters: Phyllis Grogan, Dovie Cole, and Marie Cryer, Tennessee; and Jolene Sharp, Illinois

  • Two brothers; James Meeks and Jerry Meeks, both of Illinois

  • And a host of other relatives and friends
She was preceded in death by one sister, Martha Inez Swafford, Riverside, IL.

Interment will be in the Burbridge Cemetery at Chance.

Visitation will be after 5:00pm CT, Wednesday, December 27, 2006, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.
