A total of nine Adair County residents earned degrees from Lindsey Wilson College. The residents were among 259 graduates who participated in the college's third winter commencement ceremony, held Saturday, December 16, 2006, in the college's Biggers Sports Center.

In his commencement address, Lindsey Wilson Vice President of Student Services and Enrollment Management Dean Adams told the graduates they were to become "committed people of values."

"You will be expected to solve societies' problems and be the example that everyone is looking for," Adams said. "With a college degree, you will be expected to make a difference in your community that you could never make before. Making a difference takes hard work, leadership, discernment, commitment and wisdom."
