Construction: Here's the official word we got about the opening of the new highway and interchange on Monday, December 11, 2006, from Stephanie Daffron at the Somerset District Office in Somerset: 1) Ramps will probably be open to traffic in next week or so. Still finishing some guardrail items. 2) KY 61 Mainline will not be totally complete until next spring, when the final surface course can be laid. 3) The new portion of KY61 just south of Columbia will possibly be open to traffic next week.
