Feedback: The Lacy family of Breeding's tradition of service

Harry Furkins writes that descendants of one Breeding couple have had at least 14 members to have served in armed forces of the United States. More names of Breeding area folks added to the Adair Veterans List. He notes a very special career airman

Hello Again Ed,

It looks like Happy Anniversary, Congratulations, and Merry Christmas are all in order for the Waggener family. As to your inquiry about which of the list I submitted were residents of Breeding, I believe all have lived there at one time or another.

It might surprise you to know that 14 out of the 19 names submitted were all descendants of the late G.H. and Meldora Williams Lacy. I apologize to anyone left out, especially Charles Wisdom.

It has been many years since I have lived there and I have forgotten many names. However, one name that I know I left out was Albert (Bud) Gibson; Army WWII.

There is also one special serviceman that I would like to honor, my brother-in-law Donnie D. Smith; CMSGT USAF Vietnam era (retired). He was a career soldier (airman), and passed away in 1994 from cancer. He is laid to rest in the Fudge Cemetery in Breeding.

As always, keep up the good work!

Thanks Again,
Harry L. Furkins
Note: Thanks, Mr. Furkins, again. What a story the G.H. and Meldora Williams Lacy offsprings' contribution to the United States makes! We would certainly want to learn more. For other readers' information, I had sent note to ask if the soldiers listed in Harry L. Furkins' earlier submission were all or mostly from the Breeding, KY, area. To read the names, Click Here.. The new names Mr.Furkins sent are being added to the Veterans List today.
