KSP Post 15 reports 60 accidents in 11 county area in Nov; 2006

Four traffic deaths in Adair, Taylor County, Cumberland Counties in November 2006; traffic fatalities 54 this year in area, up three for November this year, while statewide totals are down

During the month of November 2006, there were 60 traffic accidents investigated by the State Police working in the Post 15 area in the 11 counties of Adair, Casey, Clinton, Cumberland, Green, Marion, Metcalfe, Monroe, Russell, Taylor and Washington. There were four fatalities:



Betty Bray, Russell Springs, Kentucky was killed in Adair County on 11/29/06.

Billy Burgess, Russell Springs, Kentucky was killed in Russell County on 11/24/06.

Derek A. Greene, Campbellsville, Kentucky was killed in Taylor County on 11/19/06.

Phillip R. Key, Celina, Tennessee was killed in Cumberland County on 11/09/06.

This brings our yearly fatality count to 54 compared with 51 through this same period in 2005.

State wide fatality count stands at 831 compared with 901 through this same period in 2005.

During the month of November 2006, there were 1,527 citations written, 421 courtesy notices written, 2,384 vehicles inspected, 1,003 complaints answered, 64 motorists assisted, 65 criminal cases opened and 387 criminal arrests made.
