Saturday, November 4, 2006: Annual Crusade Pancake Fry
The Columbia-Adair County Fire Department Annual Pancake Fry to benefit the WHAS Crusade for Children will be held Saturday, November 4, 2006, from 6:00am until 12:00 noon, CT, at the Fire Department's newly remodeled station on Merchant ST. All proceeds go to the Crusade for Children.

Saturday, November 4, 2006: Benefit for Tyler Jessee's Family
The sad news of Tyler Jessee's death has been posted Friday evening. However, We have received word that this event will be be held and the public is encouraged to attend as a show of support.
Trinity United Methodist Church will be hosting a benefit for Tyler Jessee's Family on Saturday, November 4, at the William R. Davenport Family Life Center. We will have a chili / soup supper at 5:30pm CT, and a Gospel Music concert at 7:00pm CT. All proceeds will go to the Family to help with medical expenses. The concert will begin with the group "Driven," from Russell Springs. Following them will be the Dream Depot Quartet, and other local talents. We encourage everyone to come out and enjoy this night of fun and fellowship. Donations can be made the night of the singing, given to any Trinity United Methodist. There will be a Community Benefit for Telsie and Marsha Fudge on Saturday November 4, 2006 at the Breeding Area Fire Department. There will be a Chilli Supper and Auction. Marsha has been ill for several months and has not gotten to work a lot this year and Telsie has been laid off from work. Monday, November 6, 2006: Flu Clinic
The Adair County Health Department has received a limited amount of flu vaccine. A flu shot clinic will be held on Monday morning, November 6, 2006 from 8:00am to 10:00am CT. Shots will be given by appointment only. The cost of the flu shot is $22.00, and is covered by Medicaid or Medicare Part B. Please bring your cards with you to your appointment. To schedule your appointment please call the Health Department at 384-2286 ext. 0.

Monday, November 6, 2006. Fall Rat poison here
The Environmental office of the Health Department would like to announce that the fall shipment of rat poison will be arriving next week and will be available for pickup at the Health Dept. beginning Monday, November 6, 2006. The rat poison is free, with a limit of 4 bags per household.

The Adair County Meat Goat Association meets this evening at 6:00 p.m. at Baa Land Farm Feeds on Jones Chapel Road hosts the meetings of the Adair County Meat Goat Association, whose regular monthly meetings are held on the first Monday, starting at 6:00 p.m. Open to members and parties interested in becoming a part of the Adair County goat industry.

Polls open in Adair County from 6:00am to 6pm, Central Time. Adair County Board of Elections will be in session all day. Mail-in absentee ballots must be received by Adair County Court Clerk by 6:00pm CT. The Adair County Board of Elections will meet at Clerk's Office, Adair County Annex Building, at 10:00am CT to count absentee votes.

Tuesday, November 7, 2006: CACIDA meets
The Columbia Adair County Industrial Development Authority (CACIDA) will hold its regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, October 3, 2006 at Noon CT in the Chamber Board Room, in the Chamber headquarters at the southeast corner of Fortune and Burkesville Streets. Regular meetings are the first Tuesday at noon. CACIDA board regular meetings are each first Wednesday. By statute, meetings are open to the public. Members of the board are Chairman Barry Corbin, and members Monica Rodgers, Barry Loy, Jason Corbin, Randy Nelson, and Mike Neal. Adair County Elementary School will be holding their Veterans Day ceremony on Friday, November 10, 2006, at 1:00pm in the school gymnasium. The program will include patriotic readings from students, patriotic music, and recognizing of veterans in attendance. We would like to invite any veteran, past or present, and their families to come as we show our veterans that we truly value the sacrifice they have made and continue to make to defend our freedom. Monday, November 13, 2006: Walk-in flu clinic
A walk-in flu shot clinic will be held on Monday, November 13, 2006 at the Adair County Health Department at 801 Westlake Drive. Clinic hours will be from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. No appointment will be necessary for this clinic. The clinic is open to all adults, and anyone who has not been vaccinated is strongly encouraged to receive their flu shots at this time, especially high risk patients. High-risk patients include those 65 years of age and older, patients with cancer, chronic diseases such as diabetes and asthma, heart conditions, pregnant women and healthcare and childcare workers. Today is the last day to enter the annual Christmas decorating contest in Columbia, KY. Contests are for exterior and interior home decorating.
