Election 2006: Five districts elect constables

Winners are: 1) Harold Burton (R) 2) Al Schubert (D) 3) Robert Loy (R) 5) Tim Bottoms (R) 6) Jason Rector (R)

Five of Adair County's seven districts elected Constables Tuesday, November 7, 2006.

There were no constable candidates in District 4 or District 7.



The winners were:

In District 1, Republican Harold Burton was unopposed. He received 519 votes.

In District 2, Democrat Al Schubert was also unopposed. He received 464 votes.

In District 3, Republican Robert Loy, unopposed, received 549 votes.

In District 4, there was no candidate on the ballot.

In District 5, Republican Tim Bottoms received 590 votes.

In District 6, Republican Jason Rector defeated JJ Tucker in a close race. Rector tallied 383 votes, Tucker 365.

The line-up is: Four Republicans, 0 Democrat. Five men, no women.

Harold Burton was at the courthouse for the vote count. He was unopposed for the First District office of Constable, and received 519 votes.
