Obituary: Gilbert Dale Burton, Adair native We receive word from reader P. J. Fletcher that Gilbert Dale Burton passed away suddenly in the early morning hours on Sunday, October 29, 2006 at his home in Coshocton, Ohio. Gilbert was born on Janurary 2, 1945 in Adair County, Ky. He was preceded in death by his parents; James Leonard Burton, Sr., in 1974 and Virginia Sinclair Burton Bush in 1999. Also one nephew; Michael Wayne Burton, in 1975 and one niece; Melinda Burton, in 1972. He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law; Eric Dale Burton and Tara Burton and two Grandchildren; Caleb and Evelyn, all of Coshocton, Ohio One daughter and son-in-law; Amy Jo Burton Vargo and Jon Vargo of North Carolina. Gilbert is also survived by five brothers and three sister-in-laws; Homer and Ruth Burton of Brooksville, Ky., Randall and Janice Burton of Independence, Ky., Garry Burton of Columbia, Terry and Diane Burton of Brooksville, Ky., and Rickey Burton of Falmouth, Ky. Also surviving are two sisters and brother-in-laws; Barbara and Dale Fuhr of Katy, Texas and Peggy and Dr. John Fletcher of Martindale, Texas, and one half-brother; James Leonard Burton, Jr. and wife Lori of Biloxi, Mississippi. Arrangements are being made by his family.
