BETH ANN COWAN MET GOV. ERNIE FLETCHER at the ACES open house Thursday evening. LITTLE JAYLAN CARTER ATTENDED THE A.C.E.S. DEDICATION SERVICE with her family. She is pictured here in her Grandmother Kay Carter's lap and beside her aunt Latasha Carter, as Gov. Ernie Fletcher, Supt. Darrell Treece, Principal Robbie Harmon and other dignitaries spoke from the podium. Jaylan and her grandmother were seated next to Teresa and Terry Rowe, while Keri Beth, who is part of the 6th grade Encore Choir, sang. Jaylan, the three-year-old daughter of Scott and Kim Carter, was the perfect little lady through all the speeches. Perhaps she knew that the future they spoke about belongs to her and her generation.

MR. AND MRS. CURTIS HARDWICK VISITED WITH GOV. FLETCHER at Thursday's dedication of the new Adair County Elementary School. In his speech to proud school officials, students and families, Gov. Fletcher mentioned what a good job the former Mayor is now doing in state government. He said, "Every time I see Curtis Hardwick he mentions the Columbia bypass, and I'm proud to say that it begins this spring." He noted that the bypass will go right in front of the new school he was here to dedicate, and that because of the forward-thinking officials and builders, the building will be a showcase for the Adair County school system.
