Obituary: Ellarie White, 84, of Baptist faith

She was the a US Navy World War II veteran. She leaves a large family

Ellarie White, 84, Greensburg, KY, died at 12:04pm, Saturday, October 14, 2006, in the Westlake Regional Hospital in Columbia, KY.

She was born July 11, 1922, in Skaggs, KY, to Rufus Skaggs and Carrie McBrayer.

She was a US Navy Veteran who served in World War II.



Ellarie White was the widow of Luther White, SR.

She was employed by Elco Manufacturing and was secretary of Kishwaukee Baptist Church for many years. She was a member of the Daniel Post of the American Legion.

Survivors include the following:
  • Four sons: Robert L. (Joy) White, JR, TX; Clenny (Diann) White, Oregon; Wendell (Dawn) White, California; and Brendan (Kay), Michigan

  • Two daughters: Valarie (Clyde) Dunbar, Greensburg, KY; and Gwendolyn Bartholomee of Iowa.

  • And 23 grandchildren, including Rev. Cary "Red" (Stephanie) Dunbar of Green County, with whom she made her home for the last several years.
The funeral service will be Saturday, October 21, 2006, at 10:00am, at Julian-Poorman-Welte Funeral Home in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Rockford, IL, with Dr. Melvin Swanson officiating.

Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Rockford, IL.

Grissom Funeral Home, Columbia, KY, assisted the family locally.
