KSP Post 15 September 2006 Activity Report

72 traffic accidents in 11 county area; deaths up for year in Post 15 area, but down sharply statewide
During the month of September 2006, there were 72 traffic accidents investigated by the State Police working in the Post 15 area in the 11 counties of Adair, Casey, Clinton, Cumberland, Green, Marion, Metcalfe, Monroe, Russell, Taylor and Washington.

There were three fatalities:


  • David D. Huff, Tompkinsville, KY, was killed in Monroe County on September 3, 2006
  • Jeffery A. Covey, Albany, KY, was killed in Clinton County on September 14, 2006
  • Robert A. O'Daniel, Lebanon, KY was killed in Marion County on September 29, 2006
This brings our yearly fatality count to 37 compared with 36 through this same period in 2005.

State wide fatality count stands at 651 compared with 722 through this same period in 2005.

During the month of September 2006, there were 1388 citations written, 346 courtesy notices written, 3100 vehicles inspected, 1103 complaints answered, 62 motorists assisted, 68 criminal cases opened and 290 criminal arrests made.
