Monday, October 9, 2006: COLUMBUS DAY, in honor of the man for whom our county seat was named: Christopher Columbus (not Lum Hill of Gradyville or Columbus Pickett of Lindsey Hill, as some may have mistakenly believed). It's a Federal holiday, an official postal holiday. Adair County Public Schools are already out for Fall Break (Monday, October 9 through Thursday, October 13, 2006.) There are no court cases scheduled in Adair Circuit or District Court this morning, according to the Kentucky Court of Justice. The Adair County Library Board Regular Monthly Meeting. 12:05 noon at the library, 307 Greensburg ST, Columbia, KY. The board meets each second Monday at the library, at 12:05 noon. Also, another important meeting is the monthly meeting of the Country Quilters at 6:00pm in the Columbia-Adair County Chamber of Commerce building at Burkesville and Fortune Streets.
