Today, Wednesday, October 4, 2006 in Columbia, KY

Dawn brought another spectacular Adair County fall day to us, with bright sunlight illuminating layered ribbons of fog in the valleys, but we are expecting clouds later in the day.

Wednesdays have been traditionally slow days in Columbia, but today is an exception. There are 111 cases on the docket today in Adair District Court. No circuit court is scheduled for today. To check Adair County Court docket for today (if any) at the Kentucky Court of Justice Go to Quick Links.

Two major events in Adair County's fight against cancer occur today: 1) Grocers Fight Cancer Day started this morning at Columbia IGA. 2) The Catherine Wilson Center is sponsoring the Inaugural Breast Cancer Awareness Day. And it is a busy church day, with Wednesday night services; to check locations, Click Here. It is also a revival night at Columbia Christian Church. Read more details by clicking on Events in Quick Links.

A TIP on READING THE SITE DAILY & WEEKLY: The materials on Adair County on this site have created a huge archive. Our goal is to help you find exactly the information you want from that huge archive, easily. Most people we talk to now check the site at least once a day, using it much as they would an online DAILY newspaper. They review the last 15-20 stories each day, check all the quick links, and scan back at least 10 photos. They click on the obituariies, and check the classified ads. A few tell us they read the site WEEKLY: If they do, we'd like to remind them that in the stories archive, they'll need to check the last 60 or so stories in the Stories Archives, 30-50 photos, and, we'd suggest, read both coming events and events for the record to see what's going on. And they click on Classifieds in the Quick LInks and scroll to spot what interests them. We've added shortcuts to make access easier for you: Front page links to obituaries, anniversaries, birthdays, classifieds (and from there, easy access to realty company auctions), the court docket, college news, and education. Many frames on the front page of ColumbiaMagazine.com have links imbedded in them for easy access to additional information. And stories themself have links highlghted within stories, which lets the reader check a related story without using the search box.
