City gives details on PRIDE Fall Cleanup

Dumpsters will be at Fairgrounds Monday, Oct. 23 to Friday, Oct. 27, 2006

The City of Columbia in conjunction with PRIDE fall cleanup will have dumpsters set up for free trash and metal disposal during the week of October 23-28, 2006.



This project will provide our community with the opportunity to collect and dispose of all unwanted trash, metal items, and old appliances at no charge.

Separate dumpsters will be available for metal recycling only.

Unaccepted items include:
  • No sealed containers, paint cans, or buckets with anything inside
  • No tanks (acetylene, oxygen, propane or anything sealed)
  • No steel cables
  • No capacitators
  • No fence that has the post still attached
  • No hazardous material
  • No light fixtures or ballast
  • No televisions
  • No microwaves
WHERE: Adair County Fairgrounds

WHEN: Monday, October 23 through Friday, October 27, 2006.

Mayor Patrick Bell and the Columbia City Council would like to encourage everyone to take advantage of this program and help to clean up our community.
