Saturday, September 2, 2006: The 2006 Glensfork High School Reunion will be held on Saturday September 2, 2006, at the Lindsey Wilson College dining facility. All alumni and/or friends of Glensfork High School are invited.

Monday, September 4, 2006. Started Friday, September 1, and continues Saturday, September 2, and Monday, September 4, 2006: Labor Day weekend events. Starting Friday, September 1, and continuing, the first ever City Wide Yard Sale, tied in to the historic Buy, Sell, Swap & Trade Day on September 4, 2006, and sponsored by the Columbia-Adair County Chamber of Commerce. Monday, September 4, 2006: The Adair County Meat Goat Association meets this evening at 6:00 p.m. Baa Land Farm Feeds on Jones Chapel Road hosts the meetings of the Adair County Meat Goat Association, whose regular monthly meetings are held on the first Monday, starting at 6:00 p.m. Open to members and parties interested in becoming a part of the Adair County goat industry.

Tuesday, September 5, 2006: The Columbia Adair County Industrial Development Authority (CACIDA) will hold its regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, September 5, 2006 at Noon CT in the Chamber Board Room, in the Chamber headquarters at the southeast corner of Fortune and Burkesville Streets. Regular meetings have been changed to the first Tuesday at noon. CACIDA board regular meetings are each first Wednesday. By statute, meetings are open to the public. Members of the board are Chairman Barry Corbin, and members Monica Rodgers, Barry Loy, Jason Corbin, Randy Nelson, and Mike Neal. Tuesday, September 5, 2006, at 5:30pm CTThere will be an organizational meeting to begin a Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) and a School Based Decision Making (SBDM) Council at Adair Elementary. All interested parents are encouraged to attend this meeting. It will be held Tuesday, September 5th at 5:30 in the school cafeteria. We will discuss the start up of our PTO, possible election of officers and accept nominations for parent SBDM members. Monday, September 11, 2006: 11:00am CT. Kentucky Commissioner of Highways Marc D. Williams will be the honored guest speaker at a special Columbia-Adair County Chamber of Commerce luncheon at Cranmer Dining Center, Lindsey Wilson College, Columbia. Chamber Executive Director Sue Stivers has invited everyone interested in state highway projects presently underway to be at the meeting. Major announcements are expected. The public is welcome. Meals are charged individually.

The talented singers will be performing a variety of gospel, rock, pop, broadway and oldies for the audience. Trinity United Methodist Church will host a free concert on Sunday night, September 17, 2006, at 7:00pm CT, featuring the Christian rock band Live Fish from Somerset, KY. CCC is located at 206 Campbellsville St. The Singing runs from 2:00-5:00pm. The schedule is as follows: 2:00pm CT "The Sextons": 3:00pm CT"Living Waters"; 4:00pm CT "Only By Grace." Refreshments will be served. Bring a lawn chair if you would like and come enjoy an afternoon in the park listening to Christian Music.

Tuesday, September 26, 2006, at 5:00pm CT: The Adair County Project Development Board (PDB) will have its regular monthly meeting in the basement of the Adair County Annex Building. The meeting is open to the public, including all those interested in the new Adair County Justice Center.

Wednesday, September 27, 2006: A hearing will be held at the Kentucky Aviation Department in Frankfort, KY, which concerns the future of the Columbia-Adair County airport. Airport Manager John Ford said that he has not been informed about further details on the meeting, but emphasized that a show of strength always helps at these meetings. Mayor Pat Bell urged councillors to attend, and said that the meeting will be on his calendar. If any Magistrates, Councilpersons, or Board Members would like to attend the meeting in Frankfort on September 27, 2006 at 10 am please contact John Ford at 634-1831.

Thursday, September 28, 2006: Friends of the Library in the ever in Adair County will begin at 4:30pm CT at the Adair County Public LIbrary. Anyone interested in becoming a part of this important group is invited to attend. The group meets each 4th Thursday. Anyone interested in the library, literacy or literature is encouraged to become a part of this group. For more information, please call 270-384-2472 and ask for Lee Ann. Membership is $10.00 per year.



Thursday, September 28, 2006: 6:00pm. CT. CERT training at the Adair County Courthouse Annex. Citizens from all Lake Cumberland Area Counties, including Adair, are eligible to attend. September 28, 2006: Laretta Darling will be 55 years old, and to celebrate her birthday she is going to walk 30 miles. Her walk will begin at Haven Mission Church, located in downtown Columbia, where High ST meets Merchant ST, at 5:00am. She will be going North on HWY 55 to the outskirts of Campbellsville, then back south on HWY 55 to Haven Mission Church, which will complete the 30 miles. She hopes to be back at Haven Mission by 5:00 p.m. Many wonderful people have pledged money for this walk and Laretta intends to donate all of the money raised, to her church Haven Mission," to pay on the church's mortgage. The people of :Haven Mission Church" are very proud and thankful for Larretta and her "walk for the mortgage. We want to share our blessings with all of our friends and neighbors. Please come and welcome Laretta when she returns from her walk. There will be singing and praising God for his many blessings. This celebration will last throughout the weekend until 10:00pm, Saturday night. We will have lots of great gospel singing, food, and fellowship, all free. Please remember to bring a lawn chair, a good appetite and praise on your lips for Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour. Saturday, September 30, 2006 The Westlake Regional Hospital Health Fair starts at 7:00am CT and with events scheduled through noon.

Saturday, September 30, 2006: A Fly-In and Open House will be held at the Columbia-Adair County, KY, Airport on Saturday, September 30, 2006, from 8:00am until 2:00pm. There will be interesting aircraft on display, a cook-out for lunch, and fly bys by EMS helicopter. Everyone is welcome. Contact Doug Campbell at 270-250-3595.

September 30, 2006: 7:00pm CT. The Dream Depot will be doing an encore performance of the 50s and 60s show that was performed earlier as an MS benefit. This is an upbeat show, was was a sell-out at the lat performance, so reservations should be made early. Call 270-384-2657 or 270-634-2894. We look forward to seeing all of you there!!! Admission is $6.00 for adults, children 12 and under $4.00.
