Remembering Catherine Gadberry Rodgers: a remarkable person I can see her now, walking the streets of Heaven, talking to everyone and teaching them Catherine Gadberry Rodgers was a very remarkable person. I knew her personally because I was married to her nephew, Danny Gadberry. She was the great aunt to my son, Daniel Gadberry and great - great aunt to my grandsons, Hunter and Kodie Gadberry. Her love for education was amazing. When I got my GED, in 1988, she was thrilled for me. We remained very close after Danny and I divorced in 1983. The last time I saw her and talked to her was when her husband, Buell Rodgers, passed way in January 2001. She was so happy when I told her that I had big plans for my then 3 year old grandson, Hunter Gadberry, now 8, to go to College. She never got to meet my youngest grandson, Kodie, age 5. Aunt Catherine loved to talk. After her stroke, she couldn't talk very well. That devastated her. It hurt so much listening to her try to talk and having to see the look on her face when she couldn't say what she wanted to say. It saddened me when I heard she had passed away. I didn't find out about it unitl September 10th. I never got to go to her funeral. She lost her brother, Billy Joe Gadberry, in April 2006. I can see her now, walking the streets of Heaven, talking to everyone and teaching them. Aunt Catherine, you are greatly missed.
